Machias Bay Chamber Concerts

Machias Bay Chamber was established in 1970 with the help of Bay Chamber Concerts' founders Thomas and Andrew Wolf. The organization's purpose, in addition to presenting summer concerts, is to encourage the appreciation of quality music, support young peoples' studies and performance of music. The organization gives the local school district $1,000 annually to bring two or three music programs to the schools or to take students to hear the Bangor Symphony Orchestra. Machias Bay Chamber also presents funds annually to six area high school students who have improved in their music studies during the current year. During their first season, the Machias Bay Chamber Concerts presented three concerts: today they offer six concerts in July and August at 7:30 p.m. at the Centre Street Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, in Machias.
