Church School Program

September to June


Sunday Morning Schedule

10:00 Teens fill food bags for the Machias Area Food Pantry.
10:20 Nursery care begins.
10:30 Worship begins: Children and teenagers with their families for the opening hymn, Lord's Prayer, children's parable, prayer and Chancel Choir or Bell Choir Anthem.
Children as Acolytes.
10:45 Church school classes in the church vestry
Children's offering received at the beginning of classes.
11:15 1st Sunday of the month, Children and teens return to worship to receive Communion
11:30 Juice and Coffee Fellowship for all.
11:45 Cherub Choir rehearsal in the sanctuary.
2:15 Junior Bell Choir

CHURCH SCHOOL CLASSES


Nursery: Available each Sunday, Birth to three years old.

Church School Classes:

Children's offering and prayers are held in the classes with the teachers.

Curriculum: How to use the Bible.

Goals: The Board of Christian Education welcomes all children to our Sunday School program. Our goal is to provide the children an opportunity to learn about and explore with others:

Acolytes


Children in 3rd grade and older are invited to become an acolyte with the Deacons providing training a few times a year.

Scripture Reading

Teenagers practice reading scripture and may sign-up to read scripture during the year. Some students enjoy reading the scripture passages in Spanish.

Music Ministries with Children & Teens

Rehearsals will be Saturday morning at 10 AM starting December 3rd.  There will be a chance to check out costumes and parts on Sunday Afternoon, November 27th, during the Christmas Craft Workshop.  See Chris Guy for more info.


Advent activity: starting 11/27: Christmas Crafts (continuing into lunchtime)

Christmas Pageant will be held during Worship Service 12/18. 


Junior Bell Choir

Rehearsals are on Saturdays at 12 noon.  We hope to be ringing during Worship Service on November 20th

Children's Choir is for any child who would like to sing with others in some of our worship services.  Chris Guy directs this group. All rehearsals directly follow the worship service, approximately 11:45 a.m. on Sundays. On performance Sundays, all choir members should be in robes and ready for vocal warm-ups in the Sanctuary by 10:00 a.m.

Christmas Pageant with children, families, teens, chancel choir, bell choir, performed of the 4th Sunday of Advent.

The Rock Musical is presented each year in the winter during the worship service.
