Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols was first held on Christmas Eve 1918 in the King's College Chapel in Cambridge, England. Through Scripture readings and the singing of Christmas carols, the story is told of humanity's fall, the hope for a messiah, and the birth of Jesus. The Festival, which always begins with "Once in Royal David's City," is now a Christmas Eve tradition around the world. Readers will include Ellen Farnsworth, Joan Miller, Ernie Atkinson, Linda Mills, Bonnie Beiswenger, Maria Smith, Eugene Nichols, Christina LaBrosse, and Cindy Huggins. A special offering will be collected, in memory of Ken Getchell, for the We Care Baby Center in Machais. This service will also be available on Zoom.
