Sharing Your Time and Talent

Volunteers are absolutely essential to faith communities, and this is especially true of shared ministries without clergy or large staffs. At Centre Street, we are all called to the ministry as members of the priesthood of all believers. Seeking to discern and follow God's calling for this church, each of us gladly offers our time and talents to this body of Christ.

How about getting engaged in this shared ministry, whether you live locally or participate via Zoom? We'd love to help you discover a volunteer activity that honors your own God-given gifts and just plain makes you happy!

Sundays on Zoom or in the sanctuary . . .

• Show up early to greet people as they arrive, demonstrating the extravagant hospitality to which God calls us. Everyone loves being welcomed with a smile and cheerful greeting.
• Serve as a reader (liturgist) during the service, reading aloud from the bulletin the Call to Worship or a scripture passage.
• Offer to share the story—five minutes or so—of your own faith journey, so that we can all get to know each other better.
• Volunteer to offer your five-minute perspective on the topic for a service. We'll need volunteers for this during our "Come to the Table" worship series in September.

Other ways to get involved . . .

• Attend the monthly Zoom meetings of the Worship Planning Team and contribute your feedback and creativity.
  
• Join the Care Team and write cards to members of our faith community who are struggling.
  
• Contribute goodies to Coffee Fellowship or help clean up afterward.
  
• Join Just Action and get engaged in local justice work.
• Take photographs at church and email them to the church office to help build our photo library.
  
• Join the Trustees, Deacons, or Council.
  
• Help with the Blueberry Festival in August.
