Good Enough: Embracing the Imperfections of Life and Faith

At Centre Street, "church" means everyone working together to offer worship services and support one another along our spiritual journeys. This shared ministry is enhanced by a variety of online resources, such as professionally designed services from the Worship Design Studio. For Lent this year, we're using the series titled Good Enough: Embracing the Imperfections of Life and Faith.

These days, rare is the church where you don't hear people reminiscing about when the pews and coffers were full to overflowing, parking was scarce, and the pastor's door was always open. It's easy to slip into thinking that we've somehow fallen short, and we tend to think about our lives the same way.

Our culture insists that if we aren't steadily progressing toward perfection—perfect job, life, marriage, home, and so on—then we aren't working hard enough. But rather than beating ourselves up, what if we embrace the imperfections of life and faith, knowing that we are never alone?

Being imperfect doesn't mean that we've fallen short. As Micah 6:8 tells us, our job is "to do justice and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God." None of that requires perfection.

Journey through Lent at Centre Street!

Join us during this Season of Lent as we learn to stop climbing the ladder to prosperity—in our lives and our church. Instead, let's lean into embracing all the things that are "good enough" and affirm a life and faith in which we are already richly blessed.

Parallel Paths

We'll walk through Lent together, week by week, sharing worship services on Sunday mornings, reading daily Lent devotions during the week, and gathering on Thursdays to reflect on what we've read and questions that arise for us along the way.
