Chancel Choir
Centre Street's Chancel Choir has been around since long before any of us were born. With a wide range of expertise and interests, they've sung music ranging from Handel's "Messiah" to Rod Stewart's "Forever Young." With full strength at fifteen voices, the Choir sings for worship services three time each month, occasionally in collaboration with the Handbell Choir. The Chancel Choir is always open to new members without auditioning. The only requirements are love of music, curiosity to learn, and courage to try new things. |
Handbell Choir
Centre Street's Handbell Choir has been been joyfully ringing since the early 1980s. Now a seven-member ensemble, they're smaller than they used to be. But they make up for their small size through dedication, hard work, and a heartfelt love of ringing those beautiful bells. The Handbell Choir rings for worship once a month. They also occasionally team up with the Chancel Choir or Women's Ensemble. |
Women's Ensemble
The most recent addition to Centre Street's music program, the eight-member Women's Ensemble sings a lot of a cappella music and enjoys anything from Gregorian chant to Leonard Cohen. They provide music for worship services every few weeks. Members of this tightly knit ensemble are sometimes heard to comment that 5:15 to 6:15 on Thursday evenings is their favorite hour of the week. |
